Q: Can you tell us a bit about your role at Nedbank Private Wealth?
A: Sure thing! I’m one of Nedbank’s software developers here on the Isle of Man. My role involves progressing key projects for Nedbank, as well as providing support for some of our critical systems within our online banking services.
Q: What technologies do you work with on a daily basis?
A: At the moment I work with Azure (Function Apps, Service Bus, CosmosDB), MS SQL and .NET. But in the past I have worked on other projects in React and Apex for Salesforce.
Q: What’s a typical day like in your role?
A: At the moment I progress development tasks assigned to me while also being on a support rota with my team members for key systems
Q: What’s one of the most exciting projects you’ve worked on?
A: Our current project (in which we are writing a suite of microservices in Azure) is super exciting. We’re learning lots and experimenting with cutting-edge technologies each day.
Q: How would you describe the team culture and work environment?
A: The people are one of the best parts about working at Nedbank. Our team culture is fun, supportive and flexible. Everyone is very helpful and helps foster a great work environment. I can flexibly work from office or home depending on my needs, which is especially useful when I need that focus time.
