Job Description

We have an opportunity for an Intermediary Liaison Officer to join our team based in the Isle of Man.​

The role holder will be responsible for the delivery of excellent quality client service, to Nedbank Private Wealth’s intermediaries and introducers, as well as internal clients, ensuring standards are met at all times, while adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.

​Responsibilities & Duties

  • ​ Act as front line for NPW intermediary/introducer queries received by telephone, e-mail, letter, internet, website or fax.
  • Conduct any necessary intermediary activity e.g. but not limited to;
    • Payment Requests.
    • Foreign Exchanges.
    • Aid with intermediary take-on.
    • Internet Activations / Queries.
    • Issue of Duplicate Valuations or Statements.
    • Security call-backs in line with Bank Policy.
    • Maintain Required Intermediary Documentation.
    • Provide Intermediaries MI upon request.
    • Where necessary, liaise with an Intermediary regarding mutual client updates.
  • Maintain regular telephone contact with intermediaries.
  • Ensure your individual training plan is maintained and up to date at all times.
  • Record all errors and complaints in line with regulatory and bank policies.
  • Apply sound business judgment to identify and escalate any unusual or suspicious activities, to senior management or the MLRO/Deputy MLRO as required and in accordance with bank policy.
  • Work closely with the Business Development Team to ensure consistency of service delivery is managed in the absence of a Relationship Manager.
  • Drive towards the successful completion of annual objectives, within specified timeframes.
  • Undertake any other tasks related to the role, as the bank may require from time to time.

Competencies, Skills & Experience

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills enabling effective contact with all clients.
  • Proficient level of skill in the use of standard Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work on one’s own initiative.
  • Have a detailed and structured approach to all administrative tasks.
  • Demonstrate commitment, initiative, adaptability and flexibility in order to cope with the ever-changing demands of the banking industry.
  • Ability to build and develop good relationships with intermediaries.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a financial services environment.
  • An understanding of applicable regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications

  • A recognised and appropriate professional qualification would be an advantage, but suitable candidates may be qualified through relevant or similar industry experience.
